History of the Mason Dixon Line and the Tri-State Marker
Speaker: John MacKenzie
University of Delaware

Please join us for the annual meeting of the White Clay Watershed Association. A brief business meeting will be followed by the talk about the Mason Dixon Line and the Tri-State Marker. The survey marker is of particular interest because next year will mark the 250th anniversary of its placement at the intersection of Delaware, Maryland and Pennsylvania by Charles Mason and Jeremiah Dixon on June 18, 1765. Much work has recently gone into the construction of a new hiking trail to reach this marker. This trail is scheduled to open next year on the anniversary of that occasion.

Note: some early publicity incorrectly gave the start time as 7:30 p.m. - the correct time is 7:00 p..m
